Exposed cabin near Thurso, Caithness. The site had no mains and needed power that could survive the far north and be moved if the setup changed. We built solar, wind and generator input into one sealed, relocatable steel cabinet with 5kWh of storage and remote monitoring — a complete off-grid supply that looks after itself between visits.

Remote estate, north Scotland. Decades-old Lister plant with an obsolete Startomatic auto-start, no parts catalogue and nobody to escalate to — but the estate's backup power depended on it. We hold it on a yearly servicing schedule and give it the same rigour a new install would get, so it stays dependable rather than becoming a liability.

We sized an 8kVA long-run diesel to exactly that and fitted an automatic transfer switch, so it starts itself when the mains drops and needs nobody standing over it.
